Nissan Unleashes All-New Kicks Crossover with Sneaker Flair
March 25 2024,
Channeling the energy and style of the latest athletic footwear, Nissan took the wraps off the dramatically redesigned 2025 Kicks crossover SUV with an attention-grabbing "unboxing" display at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The venue played host to opening rounds of the 2024 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, ensuring the all-new Kicks made a strong initial impression with thousands of sports fans.
Outside the arena, Nissan erected a massive 3D digital rendering showing the 2025 Kicks emerging from an oversized shoebox. The crossover's bold new look takes clear inspiration from athletic sneakers with an aggressive stance, bulging fenders and sculpted bodylines. Inside Barclays, attendees could get up close with the real Kicks on display while enjoying music spun by DJs, giveaways and more.
"Debuting the all-new Kicks at this pivotal sports moment allowed us to introduce the vehicle's dynamic new look and personality directly to a passionate fan base," explained Marisstella Marinkovic, vice president of marketing for Nissan U.S.
Style Meets Versatility
The 2025 Kicks maintains a compact urban footprint yet serves up generous interior space thanks to a longer wheelbase and increased exterior dimensions compared to the previous model. Rear seat legroom sees a significant increase, as does total cargo capacity, which is now class-leading. Upscale interior appointments include an available panoramic sunroof and dual 12.3-inch digital display screens.
Under the hood is a new 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine mated to a latest-gen continuously variable transmission for improved acceleration and responsiveness. Nissan's Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system is available for the first time, boosting traction in slippery conditions. A selectable "Snow" mode optimizes AWD calibration for better control on winter roads.
High-Tech Smart Features
Even the base Kicks S comes loaded with Nissan's comprehensive Safety Shield 360 suite of driver assistance technologies as standard kit. This includes automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert and more. Available ProPILOT Assist provides hands-on semi-autonomous driving capability for less stressful highway cruising.
Keeping devices charged and connected is easy with standard wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, multiple USB-C ports and available wireless charging pad. A premium Bose sound system is offered for discerning audiophiles.
The 2025 Kicks hits Nissan dealerships in late summer, with full pricing to be announced closer to the on-sale date. After its Barclays Center debut, the crossover will be on public display at the New York International Auto Show from March 27 through April 7.
"The all-new Kicks invigorates the small crossover segment with its expressive design, confident driving experience and enhanced technology offering," said Nissan's Ponz Pandikuthira. "With stand-out product changes and class-leading capabilities, Kicks demonstrates how Nissan brings thrill to all vehicle segments in a way that makes every drive better."
